Creating a Deal
The Deal Form
The Deal Form is divided into two sections Sales Info and Finance Info. You can navigate between them using the Quick Navigation menu by clicking on the desired subsection. Completed subsections are denoted in the Quick Navigation menu with green check marks.
As you fill out the form, your progress is reflected in the bars at the top of the page.
Creating a New Deal
From any page on the site, select the New Deal button in the left menu.

Fill out the form. Required fields are indicated by red asterisks.
Some fields, like Customer, allow you to search for existing records by typing in the first few letters.

You can also create a new record by clicking on the plus sign beside the field, filling out the form and selecting Save.

Once a section is completed, you can select Mark As Complete to prevent further changes to that section. This does not save the deal/draft.

If you need to edit the section, you can select the Mark In Progress button.
In the Finance Information section, for each finance product:
If the product is being purchased, fill out the required fields.

If the product is not being purchased, select the toggle beside the product name and record the customer's objection.

If you want to save a deal that is in progress but has not yet been finalized, select Save As Draft at the top. To save a finalized deal, select Save As Deal.

Sale Date vs. Delivery/Close Date
All reports on DealOptix go by Sale Date. In other words, date filters in the reports and on the Sales Podium use Sale Date. If you set a report filter to current month, it will show data for deals that have Sale Date in the current month.
Most often, our clients use the Sale Date field to record the date the sale was finalized and the Delivery/Close Date to record the date that the vehicle was delivered to the customer. However, if your company uses a different date for their reporting, enter that date in the Sale Date field.
Errors When Saving A Deal
If you a field has been filled out incorrectly, you will encounter an error message when trying to save. The pop-up will indicate in which field the error occurred. Most often these errors are caused by entering text in a numeric field. Remove the non-numeric characters and try saving again.

Editing a Saved Deal
You can edit a saved deal from the deal form screen. You may need to select the Mark In Progress button if the section was marked completed. Enter changes and select Save As Draft or Save As Deal.
Users need elevated privileges to edit deals that are dated outside of the current month.
